Miss Miles-The Woman of the World

This team met to discuss the presentation of Hall's latest play, Miss Miles - The Woman of the World, which features the award winning actress Cecilia Salazar.  Trinidad and Tobago Transparency Institute (TTTI), in conjunction with Republic Bank and the University of the West Indies' Department of Creative and Festival Arts (UWI), will present the play on May 17, for Sixth Form Students at the U.W.I. Learning Resource Centre.

The one-woman play, which is set in 1960's Trinidad, chronicles the life and times of Gene Miles, and highlights the clash between Gene's conscience, faith and belief in truth and the rigid pre-set notions of the status quo. Republic Bank's sponsorship comes through its Power to Make a Difference social responsibility programme, which has been building communities and changing lives since 2003. In working with TTTI, the Bank hopes to help the Nation's young people understand the corrosive effects of corruption and to inculcate a greater sense of integrity and responsibility within their minds, so that they can join the fight against corruption.

This adapted version of MISS MILES - The Woman of the World, is aimed at 400 first and second year Sixth Form students from 31 schools and will run on Friday May 17, 2013, at 11.00am. The performance will be followed by a lively discussion session with the students. There will be two subsequent performances of the play, primarily for UWI students, on Saturday May 18, at 8.00 p.m. and Sunday May 19, at 6.00 p.m.  Admission for these performances will be $75 with Student ID and $100 for the general public.
